Police investigating fatal pedestrian accident

WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Waterbury are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened early Wednesday evening at the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Pearl Lake Road.

Police tell Eyewitness News that a Saturn Ion was traveling on Hamilton Avenue through its intersection when the vehicle struck a male pedestrian crossing Hamilton Avenue.

The pedestrian was transported to St. Mary's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The names of the parties involved are not being released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
