NORWALK, CT (WFSB) -
Norwalk police said they have located a missing 7-month-old baby and her mother in a local hotel.
Police were looking for Emily Acevedo, who was last seen with her mother Kelley Acevedo. Police said Kelley Acevedo was living in a rehab facility in New Haven and had a 24-hour pass to attend a court date in Norwalk, which she attended on Wednesday.
She apparently never returned to New Haven with her baby.
Her boyfriend, who lives in a shelter in Norwalk, reported her missing to police.
Police said Emily is in the custody of the state Department of Children and Families.
Police said they received a tip in response to the Silver Alert stating that the mother and baby were observed in the Westport Avenue area of Norwalk.
Detectives with the Youth Bureau investigated the lead and were able to develop additional information that led them to the location of Kelley Acevedo and Emily.
Detectives took Emily into custody and transported her to police headquarters. According to police, the baby appears to be in good health.
Officials said Acevedo would not face any charges as a result of the incident.
