Fatal crash in Mansfield

MANSFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

One person has died after a fatal car accident on Route 89 in Mansfield.

It happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday morning on Warrenville Road near the Ashford town line.

Ernesto Garcia-Lopez, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Police said he was the only occupant of the car.

Route 89 remained closed for hours as police investigated the cause of the accident.

No other information has been released.
