EAST HADDAM, CT (WFSB) -
California authorities have captured a Connecticut man wanted for felonies including sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Police said John P. McNally, of East Haddam, was arrested in 2010 and charged with first-degree sexual assault, two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
During the investigation, authorities said McNally fled the state and continued to evade police for nearly two years.
A recent investigation into the case led local authorities to Tustin, CA, where McNally had been living. He was then apprehended by Tustin police and charged with being a fugitive in the state of California.
McNally is being held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before a California judge on Monday.
Police said McNally will be extradited back to Connecticut.
