Posted: Updated:
DANBURY, CT (WFSB) -

The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach and its Connecticut Mission of Mercy is seeking hundreds of volunteers for its free state-wide dental clinic being held in March.

The clinic, scheduled for March 23 to 24 at the O'Neill Center on  Western Connecticut State University's on 43 Lake Avenue Extension in Danbury, is expected to provide more than $1 million in dental care to more than 2,000 patients from every corner of Connecticut.

The clinic will provide a range of free services including dental and general health screenings, cleanings, fillings, extractions, oral surgery, x-rays and prosthetics.

The clinic will open its doors at 6 a.m. on both days and operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and is open to people of all ages.

Clinic organizers are hoping to get at least 1,400 volunteers to allow the clinic to operate at full efficiency.

In addition to dentists, hygienists and nurses volunteering their time, volunteers are needed to register patients, help set up the clinic, escort patients, serve food and provide other key services.

To date more than 800 volunteers are registered.

Those who wish to sign up to volunteer for the clinic can click here  to register.
