A ceremony on Tuesday morning marks the second anniversary of the explosion at the Kleen Energy plant in Middletown that killed six men.
The ceremony took place at the council chambers in the Town Hall in Middletown. The workers - Peter Chepulis, Ronald Crabb, Raymond Dobratz, Kenneth Haskell, Roy Rushton and Chris Walters - were killed Feb. 7, 2010.
The U.S. Chemical Safety Board determined that the explosion was caused by gas being vented into a congested area. Members of the federal board said enough natural gas to fill a professional basketball court was vented into a congested area immediately before the explosion.
Workers were purging gas lines at the time of the blast.
