Bridgeport police have arrested a mother accused of using the identity of her 3-year-old son to avoid getting her lights turned off.
Police said Medina gave the child's name to the utility company to sign up for service because she owed United Illuminated more than $10,000 in unpaid bills.
Police charged Medina, 28, Tuesday with third-degree identity theft, criminal impersonation and fifth-degree larceny.
