Benefit held in Glastonbury for troops overseas

EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

The Glastonbury VFW and Post 7659 Women's Auxiliary will be holding an event Sunday to send gifts to soldiers serving overseas.

The event starts at noon and goes until 4 p.m. at the South Congregational Church in East Hartford, CT.

Organizers said that donations of snacks, cards and drawings are needed.

The event is also in need of volunteers to help sort donated items and pack the boxes.

Monetary donations are also being accepted.
