WEST HAVEN, CT (WFSB/AP) -
West Haven police say they have found a 3-year-old child unharmed in a car that was reported stolen.
The unidentified mother called police Sunday morning to report that her car was stolen with her child inside.
Officials say that she had left the child in the vehicle while she went into the Krauser's convenience store on Campbell Avenue.
While inside, the mother reportedly saw her car pulling away from the store. She described the person as a white male wearing a blue coat.
The woman then grabbed the vehicle and was dragged for a short period of time, according to officials.
Police found the vehicle shortly after on Spring street near Ella Grasso Blvd. The 3-year-old was still inside and was unharmed.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen this incident or know any information to call the West Haven Police Department at 203-937-3900.
