WFSB Channel 3Plainville mother charged in crash that injured daughter

Plainville police have arrested a local woman in connection with a January head-on crash that injured her 8-year-old daughter.

Police said Diane M. Mason, 47, was under the influence on Jan. 10 when she crossed over the double yellow center line on Northwest Drive and collided head on with a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck operated by Robert Lawson, of Plainville.

Mason surrendered to police on Wednesday after learning police there was a warrant for her arrest. She's been charged with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs or both, illegal possession of cocaine, risk of injury to a minor and failure to drive right.
