Meriden police are still searching for the man who stabbed a store clerk inside the Sam's Convenience Store on West Main Street Tuesday afternoon.
Police said two customers called police when they entered the store, heard a male voice crying out for help and found the clerk behind the counter on the ground.
The clerk, who is said to be in 60s, was bleeding from his neck and face.
He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
Police said a weapon was not found, but the clerk appears to have been stabbed by a sharp object. The suspect stole the store's cash register.
Police describe the suspect as having light to medium skin, probably in his 20's or 30's, with a medium to stocky build. He was wearing tan pants with a blue colored vest over a darker colored long sleeve shirt. He wore a blue baseball style cap with a tan colored brim and no log.
