Former Middletown teacher due in court

MIDDLETOWN, CT (WFSB) -

A former special education teacher in Middletown is due in court Wednesday after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Christine Powell, 39, was arrested earlier his month for sexually assaulting the high school student.

The school board said Powell taught at the school for 10 years before resigning in December while she was under investigation.
