Man accused of beating child with a belt

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

A New Haven man is facing charges after being accused of beating an 11-year-old with a belt.

Samuel Morales-Pacheco was arrested for assault last week, police said.

Police began their investigation in October when the child told someone at school that a family member was hurting him.

Police said the abuse was so bad, the child walked with a limp.
