New Haven Police arrest aggressive panhandler

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

 New Haven police said Michael Farmer begged one too many times for money downtown - 75 times to be exact.

Police said they arrested Farmer on Tuesday after his repeated attempts to stop folks on the sidewalk and bother them for money. Police said they had given Farmer many warnings to stop after receiving a steady stream of complaints from business owners and pedestrians.

Police charged Farmer with disorderly conduct. To date they say he has been arrested and taken into custody 75 times and received an additional 10 citations. The majority of his arrests are disorderly conduct charges.
