Connecticut college students from across the state are planning to rally in support of education reform outside the state Capitol.
Over 200 students will gather on the steps of the Hartford Capitol Thursday evening to rally for teacher tenure reform, school choice and performance improvements in under-performing districts.
The rally will be hosted by local chapters of Students for Education Reform, a national organization.
The event comes as Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is pushing his education overhaul proposals across the state and in the legislature.
He is working to pass an education reform package that includes expanding access to early childhood education, changing teacher tenure and closing the state's achievement gap.
