LEBANON, CT (WFSB) -
State Police are investigating an early morning shooting that occurred in Lebanon.
Connecticut State Police said they received a 911 call around 1:08 a.m. regarding the shooting.
When troopers arrived at 424 Kick Hill Rd., they located the woman suffering from a gunshot wound. A friend who found her called police.
According to Connecticut State Police, the shooting victim, who is only being identified as a 26-year-old woman, was taken to Hartford Hospital to be treated and is listed in serious condition.
Brian Scungio, who lives two houses down and was awakened by a knock on his door, said the only trouble he's ever seen at the apartment building where the victim lives is a party a few months ago that had to be broken up state troopers.
"When that house party happened it was a surprise because usually things are really quiet here," he said.
The victim was found inside an apartment building which also houses a beauty salon, Salon Naturell by Pia. A woman who answered the phone at the salon said the incident involved renters living downstairs.
Connecticut State Police said the shooting scene was secured and several detectives from the Major Crimes Squad began an investigation.
Troopers and detectives said they collected evidence and interviewed witnesses at the scene of the shooting in Lebanon.
The incident remains under investigation.
