Hiker rescued from Enders State Forest

GRANBY, CT (WFSB) -

Rescue crews have located a missing hiker who got lost in Enders State Forest in Granby.

According to officials, the female hiker got separated from her party Wednesday night.

A 911 call was received from the woman's cell phone around 9 p.m. Wednesday asking for help.

Members of the Granby Fire Department, Granby Police, State Police and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection all responded to help locate the woman.

Officials said a police K9 located the woman in the woods shortly after 2 a.m.

The woman was able to walk out under her own strength, officials said.  She was checked out by medical personnel on scene and then allowed to go home with family.

Officials said no charges would be filed.
