Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is joining Connecticut's big city mayors to announce a plan to combat urban violence.
A news conference is planned for Thursday afternoon at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
Malloy is scheduled to be joined by Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra, New Haven Mayor John DeStefano and Bridgeport Police Chief Joseph Gaudett. Connecticut's U.S. Attorney David Fein is also expected to be on hand for the announcement.
The city of Hartford experienced a particularly violent weekend earlier this month when 10 people were shot. Two of them died. Police said a 16-year-old from Windsor and a 24-year-old Hartford man were found shot to death on June 9 in separate incidents.
