New London police identify body found by Long Island Sound

NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) -

New London police have positively identified a body that was found near Long Island Sound on Wednesday.

Police said Katie Valvo, 29, of Otis, MA, was found on a rocky area under a pier, and police have tentatively ruled her death as accidental, pending the outcome of an autopsy.

Police said they have notified Valvo's family of her death and the investigation remains open.
