VERNON, CT (WFSB) -
Hazmat teams responded to a house on Richard Road after EMS personnel transported a resident to Manchester Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency crews were initially dispatched to 63 Richard Rd. for a medical call, but fire officials said they were forced to call in a hazmat team after learning that potentially harmful materials could be inside.
Late Tuesday night, crews completed a sweep of the house only to find no hazardous material inside. It is still unclear why the hazmat teams were called to the scene.
