HAMDEN, CT (WFSB) -
A daycare worker in Hamden is accused of verbally abusing a 3-year-old child and recording it on video.
The daycare worker involved is described as a teacher's assistant.
Lindsay Cavallaro was caught by cell phone verbally harassing the 3-year-old boy, Michael Santana, to the point where she made him cry.
It appears as though Cavallaro filmed the incident herself because you can hear Michael in the video saying he was going to knock the phone out of her hand.
Cavallaro has since been suspended while an internal investigation is conducted.
A statement from Sleeping Giant was released to all parents and in addition to the confirmation of a suspension, the statement said, "Our number one priority at all times is to provide quality and safe childcare for all of the children at Sleeping Giant Day Care."
Michael's mother said will be taking legal action.
