HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
Officials from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection are expected to get back the results of a second round of test of water quality at several closed beaches Thursday.
The DEEP closed several swimming areas after test showed poor water quality.
The following state park swimming areas are currently closed:
- Rocky Neck, Niantic
- Sherwood Island, Westport (east end only)
- Silver Sands, Milford
- Chatfield Hollow, Killingworth
- Kettletown, Southbury
Officials hope to reopen any beaches that test better just in time for the upcoming weekend.
In addition, officials also have closed Green Falls Pond at the Pachaug State Forest in Voluntown because the water level is low.
