WESTPORT, CT (WFSB) -
Westport police arrested a man after rescuing him from a vehicle that he crashed into a building early Thursday morning.
Around 12:30 a.m., police received a 911 call after a vehicle slammed into a building at 468 Post Rd. E.
When emergency officials arrived, they said they found the driver, identified as George Arias, 53, of Bridgeport, trapped in his vehicle and suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Westport fire officials were able to extricate Arias. He refused medical treatment from EMS workers.
Arias was arrested and charged with failure to drive in an established lane and driving under the influence.
He was given a court date of July 12 after posting a $500 bond.
