HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
A mother is behind bars after her 3-year-old and 5-year-old were found alone outside in the north end of Hartford after midnight on Friday.
Police were called to 150 Clark St. around 12:30 a.m. for a report of two unsupervised children. The siblings told police they couldn't find their mother.
30-year-old April Slade was arrested and is facing two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
Police would not say where Slade was when the children were found but said they did an extensive search to locate her.
Slade is being held on a $10,000 bond and is due in court later this month. The children are staying with relatives.
