Boat fire reported in Stratford

STRATFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Fire officials are continuing to investigate the cause of a fire that broke out on a boat in Stratford on Friday.

It happened at Brewer's Marina on Broad Street.

Officials told Eyewitness News a family was returning from a day of boating, when a fire broke out in their boat's cabin.

Nearby boaters tried to keep the fire contained until firefighters arrived.

Responding emergency crews were able to knock down the fire shortly after they arrived.

Those onboard the boat were checked out for any injuries on scene. Police said no one was transported to the hospital.
