Clinton man killed in overnight crash

EAST LYME, CT (WFSB) -

A man from Clinton has died, and several others were injured in an overnight crash in East Lyme.

It happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning near exit 72 on Interstate 95.

Police said Christina Morton-Lane, 23, of Old Lyme, was traveling on the exit 72 ramp when she traveled off the road and hit the guardrail. Police said Morton-Lane then got back onto the highway and struck two motorcycles in the right lane.

The driver and passenger of the first motorcycle were ejected and suffered serious injuries. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as Robert Burr, 35, of Clinton was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to Hartford Hospital for serious life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger of the second motorcycle that was hit also suffered moderate injuries and were transported to L&M Hospital.

Police said Morton-Lane was driving while intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
