EAST HAMPTON, CT (WFSB) -
East Hampton police have arrested two people who were caught during an interrupted burglary.
Police said they were called to Classic Auto on East High Street shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday morning on a report of suspicious activity in the area.
When police arrived, they discovered two people burglarizing the business. Both were apprehended as they attempted to flee out the rear of the building, police said.
Police have identified the suspects at 43-year-old Donald Powell of Hartford and 19-year-old Katelyn Cook of East Hampton.
Police said the pair was in the process of stealing tools and cash from the business.
Both were arrested, Powell is charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree larceny. Cook was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, possession of marijuana and misrepresentation of a controlled substance.
Both are being held on a $50,000 bond and will appear in Middletown Superior Court later in the morning.
