Posted: Updated:
HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra announced Monday that three police chief search finalists are making a public presentation and answered written questions from members of the public at the Hartford Public Library.

The three finalists are:

  • William Heim, chief of police in Reading, PA
  • Dr. Frank Straub, director of public safety for the city of Indianapolis
  • Irving Bradley Jr., who previously served as police chief in Newark and director of police in Trenton, NJ

"These three individuals are fine law enforcement executives, and I am grateful for their willingness, desire and passion to be police chief of Connecticut's capital city," Segarra said. "I look forward to hearing their presentations and discussing with them their skills, qualifications and rationale for why they want to serve the residents of the city of Hartford."

Segarra said that he intends to announce his final selection for the position of Hartford police chief sometime next week.
