TRUMBULL, CT (WFSB) -
A Trumbull teacher has been arrested after being accused of assaulting a 3-year-old.
Jean-Marie Pulaski, of Stratford, turned herself in to Trumbull police on Tuesday after learning of a warrant for her arrest.
The charges stem from an incident that was reported in April.
The mother of a child at a Trumbull-Monroe head start program said her 3-year-old daughter was assaulted in class on April 24., and in addition to being investigated by Trumbull school officials, the Department of Children and Families was also notified.
Through several interviews, police said, it was discovered that the child was asked to put her head down on her desk for "quiet time" and she didn't comply.
So, according to officers, Pulaski forced the student's head onto her desk twice.
The incident was witnessed by the school nurse who then reported the incident to officials.
The nurse examined the child and there were no visible injuries.
Pulaski was charged with breach of peace and was released on $10,000 bond.
