HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Hartford police are investigating a shooting after a man was found with two gunshot wounds inside the Zion Hill Cemetery on Thursday morning.

Investigators have been using metal detectors to find shell casings and pure manpower to find the weapon used in the shooting.

Residents passing by said crime scenes in the area are growing all too common.

"There's shooting all over Hartford," said resident Emily Gonzalez. "I know the cops are trying to do what they can, but it's nerve wracking for people to be out here with their kids."

Police said a Hartford man was found around 6:30 a.m. with two gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and is still alive, but is reported to be in serious condition.

Residents said police officers usually patrol this area a lot.

"They're usually inside sitting around and checking the area a lot," said Dory Malave, of Hartford. "I've never seen yellow tape inside the cemetery like that."

Just across the street from this crime scene is Trinity College.

Despite the investigation, students around for summer semester said they still feel safe on their campus.

"You want to take note of it, but you don't want to be necessarily frightened," said junior Miles Bristow.

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating the shooting.
