WASHINGTON, D.C. (WFSB) -

Chicco is recalling more than 450,000 of their Polly high chairs that were sold throughout the United States.

According to a release, the high chairs are being recalled after they received several reports of children sustaining injuries from pegs on the back legs of the chairs intended for tray storage. Injuries vary from bruising to lacerations needing stitches and a child's cornea being scratched.

The high chairs were sold at several retail stores including Babies R Us, Burlington Coat Factory and Toys R Us and online through retailers including Amazon.com and Target.com from January 2005 through July 2012. The chairs cost between $100 and $150.

Consumers who have the chairs should contact Chicco for a free repair kit.
