Man shot in New Haven on Friday night

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

Police are investigating after a man was shot on Lilac Street in New Haven.

It happened in the area of 27 Lilac Street, shortly before 9 p.m. Friday night.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found Darrell Moye, 29, of New Haven, suffering gunshot wounds to the face and right torso. 

Moye was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital. Officials said Moye is currently listed in stable condition.

According to witnesses, Moye had been in a confrontation with several other men, who  approached him on his front porch. Police said a man from the group then shot Moye, before fleeing from the scene.

According to police, the suspect is described as a black male, wearing a red T-shirt and white sneakers.

The Bureau of Investigation and Major Crimes Division are still investigating the shooting.
