NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -
Police in New Britain are searching for the operator of a gray minivan they say approached a young girl.
Police were called to the area of Park Drive and Uncas Road around 8 p.m. Friday after an 11-year-old girl was approached by an older man operating a minivan.
The victim rebuffed the male's requests and the driver left.
The male than returned and exited his vehicle, but the victim fled home and notified police.
The vehicle was described as a gray minivan that was very dirty around the bottom.
The victim recalled that the suspect had to reach outside the door to use the exterior handle and hit the inside to open the door.
The suspect was described as an older male with a gray beard and gray hair.
The victim told police that the vehicles license plate had an "X" on it.
