NORWALK, CT (WFSB) -

One person has died in a motorcycle crash that shut down the southbound part of Interstate 95 in Norwalk, early Sunday morning.

It happened after 3 a.m. near exit 18 on the southbound part of Interstate 95.

Police said Ines Franco, 29, of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, was killed after being ejected from the motorcycle she was driving.

According to officials, Franco was in the right shoulder of the southbound side of interstate 95, because one of the motorcycles she was driving with had a flat tire. At that point, police said Franco's motorcycle was struck by a Ford Taurus driving in the right lane. Franco was then ejected and landed in the center lane of the highway.

Emergency responders pronounced Franco dead at the scene.

No one else involved in the crash suffered any injuries.

The southbound side of the highway was shut down for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene, and officials investigated the crash.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call State police Troop G.
