NIANTIC, CT (WFSB) -
Amtrak will be closing the new Niantic River Bridge for a span of nearly 48 hours Sunday evening.
According to officials, Amtrak will be working on the new railroad bridge, which is set to replace the old bridge.
The old bridge will be able to go up and down so that boats can pass through, but any craft taller than 16 feet will not be able to get under the new bridge from 6 p.m. Sunday until at least 6 p.m. Tuesday.
