Connecticut officials are organizing day trips for parents and children in Hartford to offer fun lessons on state history, government and the courts.
The programs are being offered on July 24, and Aug. 9 at the Capitol, Supreme Court building and Old State House. The events are sponsored by the Judicial Branch, League of Women Voters, Museum of Connecticut History and Old State House.
Families, using objects and photographs from the history museum, can learn about Connecticut inventors and inventions, visit the Capitol to learn about the legislative process and see the House and Senate chambers, visit the Supreme Court courtroom and learn about the state's history at the Old State House.
The events are intended for children ages 8 and up.
