MANCHESTER, CT (WFSB) -
A man in Manchester has been arrested after being accused of threatening his girlfriend and holding her against her will.
The Glastonbury Police Department received information about a domestic incident that took place inside a vehicle on Manchester Road on Sunday.
The investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, identified as James Moriarty, 46, of Lakewood Circle in Manchester, was operating the vehicle recklessly and was threatening his girlfriend, who was also inside the vehicle.
Moriarty, a convicted felon, was believed to be in possession of numerous firearms at the time of the dispute.
Police said the girlfriend jumped from the moving vehicle in order to escape and ran to call police.
Police said Moriarty was found at his home in Manchester and inside Manchester police said several weapons were found inside and also recovered two guns from the vehicle.
He was arrested and charged with:
- Criminal possession of a pistol
- Possessing weapons in a vehicle
- Threatening
- Reckless endangerment
- Unlawful restraint
- Disorderly conduct
He was held in jail on $75,000 bond and appeared in court Monday.
