HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
Temperatures are expected to make their way well into the 90s across Connecticut on Tuesday and this has prompted some cities and towns to open cooling centers.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for most of southern New England as the temperature rises close to the century mark.
According to the National Weather Service, a heat advisory mean that temperatures and unbearable humidity will combine to create a situation that could be potentially life-threatening if proper precautions are not taken.
Below is a list of the current cooling centers. Additional ones will be added to the list as they come in.
Avon:

Hartford:

According to the National Weather Service, more people are killed every year than flooding, lightning, tornadoes and hurricanes combined.
