Bristol narcotics team arrests four

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

The Bristol Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested four men wanted on narcotics-related arrest warrants Tuesday.

Police said the operation was to target repeat offenders in both the West End and Shawn Drive areas of Bristol.

Arrested were 27-year-old Chaz Shepard, 24-year-old Antonio Garcia, 29-year-old Shane Blake and 35-year-old Derek Whitehead.

Shepard and Garcia were charged with two counts of illegal sale of narcotics and illegal possession of narcotics.  Shepard is being held on a $400,000 bond and a parole violation.  Garcia is being held on a $235,000 bond and parole violation.

Blake was charged with three counts of illegal sale of narcotics, three counts of illegal possession of narcotics, three counts of illegal sale of narcotics in a school zone, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.  He is being held on a total of $650,000 in bonds.

Police arrested the fourth suspect, Derek Whitehead, after a short foot pursuit and struggle.  Whitehead is charged with resisting arrest, three counts of illegal sale of narcotics, three counts of illegal possession of narcotics and violation of probation.  He is being held on a total of $360,000 bond.

Police said they seized about $25,000 in cash during the operation and additional arrests are expected.
