Cooling centers open again as temps expected to surpass 90

Cooling centers will open across Connecticut for a second day as temperatures are expected to once again surpass 90 degrees through most of the state.

Below is a list of the current cooling centers. Additional ones will be added to the list as they come in.

Avon:

  • Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Rd., 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Bridgeport:

  • Greater Bridgeport Transit Bus Station, 710 Water St., 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Public Libraries
  • Senior Centers

Ellington:

  • Ellington Senior Center, 16 Church St., 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Hall Memorial Library, 96 Main St., 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

 

Hartford:

  • North End Senior Center, 80 Coventry Street, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • South End Wellness Center, 830 Maple Avenue, 90 a.m. - 80 p.m.
  • Parkville Senior Center, 11 New Park Avenue, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Hispanic Health Council, 175 Main Street, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Hispanic Senior Center, 45 Wadsworth Street, 90 a.m. - 8 p.m.

 

Meriden:

  • Meriden Public Library, 105 Miller St., 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • Meriden Senior Center, 22 West Main St., 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Middletown:

  • Municipal Building Council Chamber, 245 DeKoven Dr., 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Middletown Police Department, 222 Main St., 24-hours a day
