TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -
Two ex-Torrington cops will not face criminal charges stemming from an investigation into alleged computer crimes.
Veteran officers Jennifer Hayes and Michael Szabo, who both resigned in recent months will not face criminal charges after a state's attorney declined to sign warrants for their arrest.
Both officers were accused with using computers in their patrol cars to make "phantom stops." During these stops, the officers would call in to report a motor vehicle stop, without actually making it.
The officers join former Torrington officer Hector Medina who is currently facing charges for similar activities. Medina has appeared in Litchfield County courts five times and is facing 58 counts of third-degree computer crime, a class D felony.
According to police officials, all three cases were similar, however had differences that the state's attorney cited when he made the decision to deny the warrants.
