Weather causes summer programs to be canceled

ROCKY HILL, CT (WFSB) -

Wednesday's severe storms have caused some towns to cancel summer programs for children because of conditions left behind.

Officials in Rocky Hill have canceled summer programs at two of the schools because of a power outage.

Summer programs at the Griswold Middle School and Westhill Elementary School will not be held Thursday because the schools have no power.

Officials said programs at the Stephens Elementary School and the high school will take place as scheduled.

In Seymour, the first selectman said the Recreation Playground Program would be canceled Thursday due to the conditions of the fields at Gary and Chatfield parks.
