MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) -
Meriden police have arrested the driver of a car that rolled over on Sherman Avenue early Thursday.
Neighbors in the area have spent Thursday morning cleaning up in the wake of the crash that left several cars damaged.
Police said Jamal Vereen, 30, of Middletown, was alone in the vehicle when for some reason he lost control, sideswiped two parked cars and then flipped over.
The force of the impact pushed the two parked cars together causing further damage.
But, Vereen's wild ride didn't end there.
After slamming into the cars and flipping over, Vereen's vehicle slammed into a third vehicle before coming to a stop.
Police said he then fled the vehicle and grabbed a container from inside.
The container appeared to be a Red Bull, but police said there were drugs inside.
After a search, police found him hiding in the backyard of a nearby home.
He was arrested and is now facing multiple charges.
He's being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
