MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) -

Burglars hit the Falcon Field BMX Bike Track in Meriden and stole thousands worth of items from the concession stand.

Workers said whoever is responsible was so brazen they actually took a sledge hammer to the concrete wall, knocked part of it down and made their way inside.

"It's heart breaking for our kids," said Falcon Field BMX President Brad Boissonneault

Plywood now covers the massive hole in the concessions building at Falcon Field BMX.

A food warmer, a brand new sno-cone machine, a microwave and even a coffee pots were all taken.

All of the items were needed for the concessions at the nonprofit bike racing facility.

"All the gallons of juice for the machines, cups, silverware. They took the table and everything," he said.

Boissonneault said the items cost $3,000.

Meriden police said they found the sledge hammer used in the robbery.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police.
