Route 80 reopens in North Branford after fatal accident

NORTH BRANFORD, CT (WFSB) -

North Branford police have reopened a section of Route 80 after a fatal crash.

Around 11 a.m. police received a call about an accident at the intersection of Foxon Road and Whitewood Lane.

The road was closed for a few hours while police investigated an accident between a Ford pickup and a motorcycle.

The driver of the truck, Archie Bailey of Guilford, was not injured.

The operator of the motorcycle and a passenger were transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for serious injuries.

The operator of the motorcycle has since died.

The identification of the operator and passenger of the motorcycle are not being released.

The accident remains under investigation by the North Branford Police Department.
