Car crashes into utility pole on Route 12 in Ledyard

LEDYARD, CT (WFSB) -

Travelers heading through Ledyard on Route 12 should give themselves a little bit of extra time Tuesday, after a crash was reported overnight.

Police said Route 12 between Long Cove Road and Inch Cliffe Drive will be closed for most of the day while utility crews repair a damaged utility pole that was brought down after the crash.

There was no word if anyone was injured, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
