New developments have been released in the case of an accused dog killer in Branford.
Alex Wullaert, 22, was in court in New Haven after he confessed to choking his pit bull after it urinated on his leg and bit him.
Animal rights protesters were also outside the courthouse Wednesday.
They said they want him to be given a maximum sentence for animal cruelty.
His ex-girlfriend, Jessica Leigh Satkoski, was also outside the courthouse and said, "I took care of his dog with him. He was harmless. I loved the dog. The fact he had the nerve to do this, he messed with the wrong dog and the wrong people. He shouldn't have done it."
His case was continued until Aug. 9.

I first saw the headline early Tuesday on Real Clear Politics, a political news site where I generally start my morning. It's not where I expect to see a story on breast cancer.
