Stratford man faces 22 counts of sexual assault, 17 risk-of-injury charges

STRATFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A Stratford man has been arrested and is now facing multiple sexual assault and risk-of-injury charges.

Mark R. Battey, 54, of Margharita Lawn, was arrested Wednesday morning after a lengthy investigation.

Police said Battey was arrested in Kent and was brought back to the Stratford Police Department to be booked and charged.

He was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, five counts of third-degree sexual assault and 15 counts of fourth-degree sexual account.

In addition to sexual assault, he was also charged with 17 counts of risk of injury to a minor charges.

He was held on $200,000 bond and is expected to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday.
