Capt. Cheryl Clapprood says the teens, ages 15 to 17, are charged with arson of a dwelling and breaking and entering for a fire. She said they could face more charges as the investigation continues.
Six charged as adults pleaded not guilty Wednesday and were ordered held without bail until a dangerousness hearing Monday. Defense lawyers say the evidence against them is thin.
Investigators believe a fire Tuesday night in a vacant home on Martin St. may have started after two Molotov cocktails were thrown. Police allege the group also tried to set a fire outside the Springfield Lodge of Elks on Tiffany Street.
No injuries were reported.
