
ELMIRA, N.Y. (AP) - Emergency officials say a tornado touched down in the city of Elmira and there are reports of several buildings damaged.
Chemung County emergency officials say tornado touched down after 4 p.m. in the Southern Tier city. They were assessing the situation and did not know if there were any injuries.
The National Weather Service issued its first tornado warning at 3:35 p.m. and have received reports of fallen trees and siding damage. The storm system was heading east.
